8th Grade Math: Today in math, students continued working with isometric dot graphing paper where they kept practicing sketching solids in 3-D form. Mr. Olsen had wooden blocks out in the classroom and each table group of students were encouraged to build the shapes that they were being asked to draw first, so they could see what they were expected to draw. They then drew the shapes they built with the blocks on the isometric dot paper.
Assignments: Review Homework #19 is due on Friday.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students were introduced to the volume equation for cylinders. After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were handed the 12.6 worksheet and given 25 minutes of class time to complete the assignment.
Assignments: Review homework #20 is due on Friday. Students should also complete the 12.6 worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.
Science: Today in science students were given class time and computer lab time to continue working on their research of their chosen energy source. Today most students were working on the process of converting their energy source from a raw material to electricity. Some students began the next step of explaining how and where their chosen energy source is being used in the state of Alaska.
Assignments: Students should be completing the worksheet explaining how they convert their energy source into electricity if they did not finish in the class time provided today.
