8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the problem of the day. We then continued our discussion of surface area of prisms. Today we talked about the formulas and the process of solving for the surface area of rectangular prisms, cylinders and triangular prisms. Students then spent the rest of the hour practicing their skills on a worksheet.
Assignments: Review Homework #17 is due on Friday.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters, before we transitioned into our next activity where students are working in groups of four and they are constructing rectangular prisms as a team. Once they have built three perfect prisms, they are to calculate the surface area and volume of each. We will continue this activity on Thursday.
Assignments: Review HW #18 is due Friday.
Science: Today 8th graders took the SBA Science exam. 7th graders spent the morning with Mr. Sheufelt.
Assignments: Students should continue keeping track of how long a light is using electricity in either their kitchen or bathroom.
