8th Grade Math: Today in math, students completed the building rectangular prisms project which has students working in groups of four and constructing and calculating the surface area and volume of the rectangular prisms they construct.

Assignments: Review Homework #18 is due on Wednesday. Students should also complete their surface area and volume calculations from the building rectangular prisms project.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students were continued working with cylinders and the process of calculating the surface area of a cylinder through a net of a cylinder. Students were handed the 12.4 worksheet and given 30 minutes of class time to complete the assignment.

Assignments: Review homework #19 is due on Wednesday. Students should also complete the 12.4 worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.

Science: Today in science students were handed the scoring guide or rubric to our next project, the Alternative Energy Writing Project. After going over the scoring guide and expectations of the project, students were taken to the computer lab and given about 35 minutes of class time to complete the Researching Energy Sources worksheet that they began on Monday. Once students finished up the first worksheet, they were handed step number two and worksheet number two, where they will describe in detail the steps required to convert their chosen energy source from raw materials to electricity.

Assignments: Students should be completing the Researching Energy Sources worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided today.
