8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were re-introduced to solving inequalities using addition and subtraction.  Students had some troubles making it through our homework on Wednesday evening, so today in class we reviewed the process of solving equations, before relating the process to solving inequalities.  After several examples that we worked through together, students were handed a worksheet where they will have to solve inequalities and then graph their solutions on a number line.

Assignments:  Review Homework #28 is due Friday in class.  The section 3.4 Practice A worksheet (evens) is due Friday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students were introduced to box and whisker plots.  We reviewed stem and leaf plots and then compared the two data displays methods and talked about the differences between the two.  We then covered the important vocabulary associated with box and whisker plots, before working through an example together as a class.  Students were then assigned two problems from the book on page 135, #7 and #9, to be due Friday in class.

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were introduced to the cell division process called mitosis.  We reviewed the three stages of the cell division process as well as the four phases of mitosis.  Students were then introduced to the next activity, making a mitosis flipbook.  After instructions were given and any questions answered, students were given the final 15 minutes of class to get started on their rough drafts.
