Monday April 13, 2015

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and we quickly reviewed how to with fraction operations. Students were then introduced to solving equations by clearing the fractions using the LCD (least common denominator).  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned some homework problems from the text book, page 256 #13-17, to be due Tuesday in class.  
 
Assignments:  Review HW #45 is due Wednesday in class.  Page 256 #13-17 are due Tuesday in class.  

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students were introduced to chapter 6 and integers.  Students learned the difference between positive and negative integers, as well as how to use a number line to help in their understanding of an integer and its opposite.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned the section 6.1 WS, to be due Tuesday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #45 is due Wednesday in class.  The section 6.1 WS is due Tuesday in class.

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began learning about vertebrates.  Students defined some key vocabulary words, before we read section 3.1 on What is a vertebrate?  Students were handed the section 3.1 worksheet on vertebrates, and it will be due Tuesday in class.
