8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and we quickly reviewed how to with fraction operations. Students continued to work with solving equations by clearing the fractions using the LCD (least common denominator).  Students were also introduced to clearing decimals by using place value as their guide.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned the section 5.7 WS (odds), to be due Thursday in class.  
 
Assignments:  Review HW #46 is due Friday in class.  The section 5.7 WS (odds) are due Thursday in class.  

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students continued working in chapter 6 and integers.  Students reviewed the difference between positive and negative integers, as well as how to use a number line to help in their understanding of an integer and its opposite.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, including how to find the absolute value in order to add integers with different signs.  Students were assigned the section 6.2 WS, to be due Thursday in class.

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students continued learning about and working with vertebrates.  Today 7th grade students from Ms. Villanueva's class and Mr. Olsen's class were dissecting frogs in Mr. Olsen's classroom.   

   

Assignments:   8th grade students should be continuing to familiarize themselves with the internal anatomy of a frog for the upcoming frog dissection activity scheduled for Thursday.
