8th Grade Math: Today students began class with the problem of the day, before moving right into grading of the section 1.8 worksheet that was due today in class on Coordinate Planes. Students were then given class time to update their math notebooks, do some extra practice problems and ask Mr. Olsen any questions in order to prepare themselves for the chapter test tomorrow.

Assignments: The chapter 1 test will be on Thursday morning.

7th Grade Math: Today students began class with their flashmasters. We then moved right into the next section, 1.8 on story problem strategies, and after some teacher led instruction and examples, students were given class time to complete the worksheet.

Assignments: Section 1.8 worksheet on story problem strategies is due in the morning. The chapter 1 test will be on Friday morning.

Science: Today in science students began class by dissecting the advertisements that they brought to class today as homework. Students had to fill in a worksheet detailing the company or brand who are displaying the advertisement, and which elements of advertising the company incorporated into their ads. Students did this for all of the ads they brought in. Next, students were handed a worksheet that is to be considered an outline for building their own advertisement. Students are to design an ad that incorporates the elements of C.R.A.P and the elements of advertising into their own ad in order to persuade consumers to purchase their product.

Assignments: There is no assignment per se, however, students were informed that in order to maximize in class work time tomorrow, they should be at the very least, thinking about ideas for the candy or gum that they will be building an advertisement for tonight at home.
