8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with Quiz #1 of the year! We then had a work day, where when students finished up their quiz, I handed them their section 1.5 worksheet on adding integers and allowed them class work time to avoid having them have to do the worksheet as homework.
Assignments: Review Homework #3 is due Friday morning. Section 1.5 worksheet is due tomorrow morning.
7th Grade Math: Today students began class with Quiz #1 on the year. We then moved on and graded the homework from yesterday, the section 1.4 worksheet. We then began section 1.5, introducing Equations and Mental Math. Tomorrow we will go into more detail with mental math.
Assignments: Review Homework #4 is due Friday morning.
Science: Today in science we began class with a ten minute reflection on the past few days in the students science notebooks. We then transitioned into a more structured lab, where all of the students worked in table groups and followed a lab report format that Mr. Olsen put together, with detailed step-by-step procedures included. Once students had their individual lab reports filled in and ready to rock, the table groups were allowed to begin the process of determining "Does gum lose mass when chewed over time?" We will revisit this lab tomorrow in class to finish up and move into the analyzing of the results and building bar graphs.
Assignments: None.
