8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the problem of the day. We then jumped back into chapter 7 and began working with solving percent problems by using proportions. Mr. Olsen led students through some instruction and several example problems, before students were given several examples to practice without help, unless needed.
Assignments: Review Homework #12 is due on Wednesday.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters. Students then jumped back into chapter 10 and we began working with regular and irregular polygons. After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were handed the 10.4 worksheet and given 20 minutes of class time to complete the assignment.
Assignments: Review HW #13 is due Wednesday. Complete the 10.4 worksheet if they did not finish up in class.
Science: Today in science students began class with reading a section from the text book on Electric Currents and Magnetic Fields. Students were then handed a worksheet with questions related to the reading and we answered them as a group. We then had a discussion about the nuclear power plants in Japan and how they relate to the flow of electricity.
Assignments: Complete the Electric Current and Magnetic Fields worksheet if not completed in the time allowed in class.
