8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the problem of the day. Next we took a mini quiz on some SBA material, and Mr. Olsen shared a few different testing strategies with students to help them prepare for the upcoming SBA testing. We then jumped back into chapter 7 and began working with solving percent problems by using proportions. After some teacher led examples, students were handed the 7.2 worksheet and asked to complete #1-20 odds only.
Assignments: Review Homework #13 is due on Friday. Complete the 7.2 worksheet #1-20 Odds only for Thursday.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with a brief mini quiz on some SBA material to help students begin to prepare for the upcoming exams. Mr. Olsen shared some testing strategies with students to aid them in their preparation for the SBAs. We then joined our class with Mr. White's math class and we introduced the students to the next project, Drawing the Perfect Shape. Students will spend the rest of the week drawing eight perfect polygons, making sure to have the correct angle measurements for each.
Assignments: Review HW #14 is due Friday.
Science: Today in science students began class with reading a section from the text book on Static Electricity. Students were then handed a worksheet with questions related to the reading and we answered them as a group. We then had a discussion about how static electricity works and what the flow of electrons really means.
Assignments: Complete the Electric Charge and Static Electricity worksheet if not completed in the time allowed in class.
