8th Grade Math: Today in
math students began class with the problem of the day. Next, students continued working with chapter 4. Students are being re-introduced to factors, factor trees, and monomials. Mr. Olsen spent time reviewing the key vocabulary as well as several examples before assigning the 4.1 section worksheet and giving students 25 minutes of class time to complete the assignment.
Assignments: Review Homework #26 is due on Wednesday. Students should be completing the 4.1 section worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.
UPDATE: Mr Olsen has offered students an extra credit opportunity based on today's problem of the day. Talk to your student to find out the details!
7th Grade Math: Today in math students
began class by using their flashmasters. Next, students picked up where we left off on Monday, and continued working with factors, and factor trees. We graded Mondays assignment, the section 4.1 worksheet, before we worked on more factors, primes and composite problems as a class.
Assignments:
Review Homework #26 is due on Wednesday.
Science:
We didn't have science today, as some employees from Eaglecrest came to school to do some pre-lessons and answer any questions students had concerning our upcoming Aurora House ski days on Thursday and Friday of this week. Students who are renting gear also were fitted for their rentals, so when we arrive at the hill on Thursday morning they will have the gear ready for each renting student.
Assignments: Students should be working on their periodic table worksheet assignment given to them last Friday. It is due Wednesday in class.
FYI: Parents! Starting on Monday (10/31,
the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will
no longer accept late work from our students. Students will get credit
for the work they do, when it is due.
