8th Grade Math:  Today in pre-algebra, students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, students continued working with isometrics.  Students reviewed the definitions of key vocabulary and were able to spend the majority of class practicing creating shapes using isometric dot paper.

Assignments:     Review Homework #22 is due on Wednesday.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math, students began class using their flashmasters.  Next, students were introduced to solving equations using addition and subtraction.  Students were given the addition and subtraction properties of equality and were led through several examples of solving equations by using the opposite operation of the one in the original problem.  Students were then assigned the 7.3 worksheet and given about 15 minutes of class time to work on completing the assignment.

Assignments:  Review Homework #22 is due on Wednesday.  Students should be completing the 7.3 worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students reviewed Newton's Laws of Motion.  Students were then introduced to the next project.  Students will be conducting an experiment, following the steps of the scientific method, and will be comparing three different designs of paper airplanes, answering a question they come up with individually, and drawing some conclusions based on the results of their experiments.

Assignments:     Students have been asked to come to class on Wednesday with the question or questions they want to answer during this Paper Airplane project.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/31, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
