7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before students jumped back into multiplicative inverses.  Students were handed their quizzes from Friday, and reminded to make their corrections by Tuesday if they would like to earn credit from learning from their mistakes.  We quickly reviewed one and two step equations and students were reminded that in order to solve one and two step equations, they need to use inverse properties.  Then we practiced solving equations that involved fractions by using the multiplicative inverse.  Students were then assigned the 5.6 worksheet for homework (evens only).

Assignments:   Study Island Review Homework #25 is due by the end of the day Wednesday.  The section 5.6 worksheet (evens only) is due Tuesday in class.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Students worked through several one step equations to begin class, before we jumped back into solving two step equations.  We graded our quizzes from Friday, before we began learning about solving equations that include like terms and the distributive property.

Assignments:   Review Homework #27 on Study Island is due on Wednesday.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Student groups who haven't presented yet, gave their powerpoint presentations on their assigned body systems.

Assignments:    Students can be reviewing their notes from the body system presentations in preparation for the upcoming body system quiz on Friday of this week.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
