7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before we graded the 5.7 worksheet.  Students had lots of questions concerning inequalities, so we spent some time going over the rules of inequalities as well as solving several example problems.  Students were then assigned some review work on page 807 of the text book.

Assignments:   Study Island Review Homework #26 is due by the end of the day Friday.    The work from the textbook page 807 # 1-43 (odds) is due Friday in class.  Students can also expect a quiz on sections 5.6 and 5.7 Friday in class.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Students worked through several one step equations to begin class, before we jumped back into solving two step equations involving like terms and parentheses.  Not many students completed the 3.2 worksheet that was homework, so we spent the class period today working on the assignment together in class.  Students can expect a quiz on one and two step equations on Friday in class.

Assignments:   Review Homework #28 on Study Island is due on Friday.  Students were assigned the the 3.2 worksheet  to be due on Friday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students spent the class period today learning the major functions of all 11 body systems, as well as completing a Body System Study Guide that students will be able to use on the test on Friday.

Assignments:    Students can be reviewing their notes from the body system presentations in preparation for the upcoming body system quiz on Friday of this week.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
