7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before students were introduced to multiplicative inverses. We graded the 5.5 worksheet on dividing fractions and answered any questions from the homework before surging forward. Todays lesson was cut short by the time factor, but students were reminded of how to solve one step equations, and how to apply those same rules to solving one step equations involving fractions.
Assignments: Students can expect a quiz on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions on Friday in class.
8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters. Students worked through several one step equations to begin class, before we jumped back into solving two step equations. We worked through the 3.1 worksheet on solving two step equations together in class, before we spent the final 20 minutes of class time in the computer lab for students to work on their Study Island review homework.
Assignments: Review Homework #26 on Study Island is due on Thursday. The 3.1 worksheet practice A is due on Friday in class.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Student groups then began presenting their powerpoint presentations on their assigned body systems.
Assignments: Students can be learning and practicing their presentations in preparation for Friday if they didn't present today in class.
FYI: Parents! Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students. Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
