7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before students transitioned back into chapter 6. Today, we graded our 6.1 worksheet that was homework, before students were introduced to proportions. Students practiced solving proportions using equivalent ratios, algebra, and writing and solving proportions from word problems. Students were then assigned the 6.2 worksheet as homework.
Assignments: Study Island Review Homework #28 is due by the end of the day Wednesday. Students were also assigned the 6.2 worksheet for homework due Wednesday in class.
8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with some Do Now problems. Next, we moved back into section 3 of chapter 3 on solving equations with variables on both sides of the equal sign. Students needed extra work and practice solving equations with variables on both sides of the equal sign, so we spent the class period completing several problems on a worksheet together.
Assignments: Review Homework #30 on Study Island is due on Wednesday. The Practice A section 3.3 worksheet (odds Only) is due Wednesday in class.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Students spent the class period taking notes from a powerpoint where Mr. Olsen compared a cell to a factory, and the different roles the organelles play within the cell. Students were handed a brief worksheet to complete as homework, due on Wednesday in class.
Assignments: Students have the Modeling Cell Structures worksheet to complete by class time on Wednesday.
FYI: Parents! Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students. Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
