7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before students were introduced to dividing fractions.  Students learned what a reciprocal was and how to apply the use of reciprocals when dividing fractions.  After some teacher led instruction and several group examples, students were assigned the 5.5 worksheet.

Assignments:   Review homework #24 on Study Island is due on Thursday.  The section 5.5 worksheet is due Thursday in class.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Students worked through several one step equations to begin class, before we jumped back into solving two step equations.  We worked through several examples of negative coefficients, before students were assigned the 3.1 worksheet for homework and given about 30 minutes of class time to complete the assignment.

Assignments:   Review Homework #26 on Study Island is due on Thursday.   The 3.1 worksheet is due on Thursday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students used the class period to practice their presentations in front of a group of peers.  Groups gave feedback to the presenters, and the presenters can use that feedback to better prepare for the Human Body Presentations scheduled for Thursday and Friday of this week.

Assignments:    Students can be learning and practicing their presentations in preparation for Thursday and Friday.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
