7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before students jumped back into multiplying fractions. We went through several example problems as a class, including fractions that include variables and exponents. Students were reminded of the rules associated with multiplying and dividing exponents, and we worked through several examples before students were assigned the 5.4 worksheet for homework
Assignments: Review homework #24 on Study Island is due on Thursday. The section 5.4 worksheet is due Wednesday in class.
8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters. Students worked through several one step equations to begin class, before we jumped back into solving two step equations. We worked through several examples as a group before we ran out of class time.
Assignments: Review Homework #26 on Study Island is due on Thursday.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Students used their peer evaluations from Monday in class to help them edit and finalize their powerpoint slides and presentations. Students then began making notecards and practicing their presentations in preparation of Thursdays lessons.
Assignments: Students can be learning and practicing their presentations in preparation for Thursday and Friday.
FYI: Parents! Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students. Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
