7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before students completed the chapter 5 test.  We then transitioned back into chapter 6 on ratios and unit rates.  Students reviewed what a ratio is and  about the three different ways to display a ratio.  We also worked with equivalent ratios, and how to order and compare those ratios.  Students were then assigned the 6.1 worksheet as homework.

Assignments:   Study Island Review Homework #28 is due by the end of the day Wednesday.  Students were also assigned the 6.1 worksheet for homework, due Tuesday in class.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with some Do Now problems.  Next, we moved back into section 3 of chapter 3 on solving equations with variables on both sides of the equal sign.   Students worked through several different example problems with Mr. Olsen, before they were assigned the odds on the 3.3 worksheet for homework.

Assignments:   Review Homework #30 on Study Island is due on Wednesday.   The section 3.3 worksheet (odds Only) is due Tuesday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students spent the class period defining key vocabulary related to the different parts of a cell, called organelles.  We then read section two of chapter one from the Cells and Heredity textbook as a class.  Students were handed a brief worksheet to complete as homework, due on Tuesday in class.

Assignments:    Students have the Looking Inside Cells worksheet to complete by class time on Tuesday.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
