7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day.  We then jumped into geometry and chapter 10.  Today students began learning about and solving problems involving triangles.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned homework from their at home text books, pages 513-514 # 1-17, to be due on Tuesday in class.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day.  We then reviewed the rules for multiplying and dividing powers, before we graded our homework from over break, the section 4.5 worksheet.  Next, students were introduced to the concepts of negative and zero exponents.   

Assignments:  None. 

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students were introduced to the concept of genetics and heredity today in class.  Students defined several key vocabulary terms, before we read section 1 of chapter 3 in class as a group. 

Assignments:    None.  

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
