7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day.  Students then jumped back into chapter 10, and today students were introduced to polygons and quadrilaterals.  Students learned how to classify polygons based on number of sides, as well as by the measure of the interior angles.  After some teacher led instruction, and several example problems, students were assigned the 10.2 worksheet as homework, to be due Friday in class.

Assignments:   Students are to complete the 10.2 worksheet for class on Friday.  Students can expect a brief quiz on triangles polygons on Friday in class.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day.   Students then jumped back into taking notes on section 4.7 on scientific notation.   Students practiced converting numbers from standard form into product form and then into scientific notation.  They also practiced converting from scientific notation into standard form.

Assignments:   None.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
