7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day.  Next,  we transitioned back into chapter 7.  Today students jumped back into how to find markups, discounts, sales tax, and tips.  After some teacher led instruction, and several example problems of each problem type, students were assigned the 7.6 worksheet, and given about 15 minutes of class time to get started.

Assignments:   Study Island Review Homework #33 is due on Wednesday by the end of school.  The section 7.6 worksheet is due Wednesday in class.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Today we jumped in to section 4 on finding the least common multiple of two or more number or monomials.  Students worked with finding the LCD of fractions in order to compare and order them.  We practiced finding the LCM of the denominators, and then converting our original fractions into equivalent fractions in order to compare them and order them from least to greatest.  Students were then assigned the 4.4 worksheet and given about 25 minutes of class time to get started.

Assignments:  Study Island Review Homework #36 is due Wednesday by the end of the day.  The section 4.4 worksheet is due Wednesday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  We then transitioned back into cell division.  Today students were given one final work day to complete their mitosis flipbook rough drafts, and to begin putting together their final drafts in order to meet the Friday deadline.

Assignments:    None.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
