7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into the textbook, and began working with adding integers.  After some teacher led instruction, including reminders of the rules of signs, and several example problems, students were assigned the section 1.5 worksheet.

Assignments:  The section 1.5 worksheet is due Wednesday in class.   Review Homework #4 is also due on Wednesday in class.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, we picked back up on our discussion on strategies for solving addition and subtraction problems.  The most commonly used strategies for addition include breaking apart and compensation.  For subtraction, students learned about breaking apart or separating and borrowing.  After some review, students were handed an addition and subtraction worksheet and given about 30 minutes of class time to complete their work.

Assignments:  The addition and subtraction worksheet handed to the students in class will be due on Wednesday in class.  Review Homework #4 is also due Wednesday in class.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, we reviewed the importance of observation and how it relates to science and scientists.  Students then participated in an observational activity, where they observed to different substances, wet ice vs. dry ice.  Students made observations of each substance, and then compared and contrasted the similarities and differences between the two.

Assignments:  None.
