Monday September 16, 2013

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into the textbook, and began by reviewing the rules associated with adding and subtracting integers.  Students were then reminded of the rules of multiplying and dividing integers with the same signs and different signs.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned the 1.7 worksheet for homework.   
Assignments:  The section 1.7 worksheet is due Tuesday in class.   Review Homework #6 is due on Wednesday in class.   

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, we jumped into reviewing multiplication strategies.  After some teacher led instruction and several different example problems, students were assigned a worksheet to practice some of the strategies we discussed.    

Assignments:   The Lesson 3 worksheet on multiplication is due Tuesday in class.  Review Homework #6 is due Wednesday in class. 
     
Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, we reviewed the importance of observation and how it relates to science and scientists.  Students then participated in several activities where they explored dry ice while making observations and providing hypotheses and explantations for the results they were seeing.  

Assignments:  None.
