7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into the textbook, and began working with comparing and ordering integers.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, making sure to hit on the difference between opposites and absolute value, students were assigned the 1.4 worksheet as homework.    

Assignments:  The section 1.4 worksheet is due Tuesday in class.    

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, we picked back up on our discussion on strategies for solving addition and subtraction problems.  The most commonly used strategies for addition include breaking apart and compensation.  For subtraction, students learned about breaking apart or separating and borrowing.  

Assignments:  None.    

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, we jumped into a discussion on observation, including the importance of observation in science.  Today's activity involved students picking an object from within the classroom and writing descriptive clues about that object in order for their classmates to guess what that object was.  We practiced this activity together as a class, before students were asked to try one themselves.  

Assignments:  Students should be coming to class with an object they selected at home and a descriptive narration of the said object for classmates to try and figure out in class on Tuesday.
