Monday September 30, 2013

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 2.  Today students were introduced to the distributive property.  In class, we reviewed the rules associated with adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing integers with same and different signs, before practicing several examples of writing equivalent numerical and equivalent variable expressions.   

Assignments:  Students were assigned problems from the text book (Pg. 73-74 #1-19) as homework to be due Tuesday in class.  Review Homework #9 is due on Wednesday in class.   

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students were introduced to the text book, and chapter one on evaluating and writing variable expressions.  We took notes on several important vocabulary words and practiced substituting and evaluating variable expressions.       

Assignments:   Review Homework #9 is due Wednesday in class. 
     
Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began planning their own dry ice investigations.  Today students needed to come up with an investigable question that could be answered within one class period.  Then, students began planning out the steps of their investigations.   

Assignments:  Students should be putting some thought into the investigations they will be conducting on Wednesday in class.
