8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into chapter 4. Students spent todays class period reviewing how to find the slope and the x and y intercepts of a given linear equation.  Next, students participated in a lesson designed to help them understand how to work with equations written in standard form. After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned some problems out of the text book, page 174 # 1,2,3,4.  These problems will be due on Tuesday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #41 is due Friday in class. The problems out of the text book, page 174 # 1,2,3,4 are due Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students spent todays class period reviewing how to solve systems of equations through graphing and creating/using a table to find x, y coordinates in order to find the point of intersection or the solution for the system of equations.  Next, students began learning how to solve systems of equations via elimination. After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were given class time to begin working through worksheet for section 5.3 (page 112) to be due Tuesday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #40 is due Wednesday in class.  Students were asked to complete the worksheet for section 5.3 (page 112) in the workbook for class on Tuesday.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned into the unit on physics.  Students spent today's class period previewing the text book we are moving into, as well as participating in a Think, Write, Pair Share activity and worksheet designed to get them thinking about what they will be learning about in this unit as well as having students share their ideas with a class mate.

Assignments:  None.
