8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students then transitioned back into chapter 4. Students spent todays class period reviewing and practicing how to find the slope of a given graph of a line, as well as how to create tables of x,y values in order to plot the points and graph a linear equation. Next, students reviewed how to read an equation in slope intercept form, and continued graphing lines on the coordinate plane. After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned page 86 of the practice workbook for class on Thursday.
Assignments: Review HW #41 is due Friday in class. Workbook page 86 is due Thursday in class.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students spent todays class period reviewing how to solve systems of equations through graphing and creating/using a table to find x, y coordinates in order to find the point of intersection or the solution for the system of equations. Next, students graded their homework from Tuesday evening, before we all felt students needed more practice solving systems of equations via the substitution method. Thus, students were assigned problems from the text book, pages 212-213 #13,15,16,17 & 18-20, 23. These problems will be due Thursday in class.
Assignments: Review HW #40 is due Wednesday in class. Students were asked to complete problems from the text book, pages 212-213, #13,15,16,17 & 18-20, 23 to be due Thursday in class.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Students then transitioned into the unit on physics. Students spent today's class period measuring and calculating the speed of various motions in the Speed Challenge Lab.
Assignments: None.
