8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students then transitioned back into chapter 4. Next, students participated in a lesson designed to help them understand how to work with equations written in standard form. After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned the worksheet associated with section 4.5 on standard form. Workbook page 90 is due Wednesday in class.
Assignments: Review HW #42 is due Wednesday in class. Workbook page 90 is due Wednesday in class.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students spent todays class period reviewing how to solve systems of equations through graphing and creating/using a table to find x, y coordinates in order to find the point of intersection or the solution for the system of equations. Next, students continued learning how to solve systems of equations via elimination. After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were given class time to finalize the workbook page 112 in class. When students finished page 112, they were handed the section 5.3 Practice B worksheet, that is due on Wednesday in class.
Assignments: Review HW #42 is due Wednesday in class. Students were asked to complete the section 5.3 Practice B worksheet for class on Wednesday.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Students then transitioned into the unit on physics. Students spent today's class period participating in another Speed Challenge activity. We then transitioned back into the text book and completed the reading for Describing and Measuring Motion. Students learned how to define velocity and practiced working with motion graphs. Student were then given the section 1.1 worksheet and given about 12 minutes of class time to complete the work.
Assignments: The section 1.1 worksheet on Describing and Measuring Motion will be due on Wednesday if they did not finish it in the class time provided.
