8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into chapter 4. Students spent todays class period reviewing how to find the slope and the y intercept of a given linear equation.  Next, students participated in a lesson designed to help them understand how to find the x intercept of a given equation. After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned some problems out of the text book, page 170-171 # 8, 11, 13, 19, and 22.  These problems will be due on Friday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #41 is due Friday in class. The problems out of the text book, page 170-171 # 8, 11, 13, 19, and 22 are due Friday in class.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students spent todays class period reviewing how to solve systems of equations through graphing and creating/using a table to find x, y coordinates in order to find the point of intersection or the solution for the system of equations.  Next, students began learning how to solve systems of equations via elimination.  Students were given class time to begin working through the activities in the workbook for section 5.3 (pages 109-111) to be due Friday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #40 is due Wednesday in class.  Students were asked to complete the activities for section 5.3 (pages 109-111) in the workbook for class on Friday.
Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned into the unit on physics.  Students spent today's class period practicing how to calculate the speed of various scenarios.  Students completed a practice worksheet, before they were assigned to complete the speed calculations of our activity from Wednesday in class.  The Speed Challenge worksheet will be due Friday in class.

Assignments:  The Speed Challenge worksheet will be due Friday in class.
