8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students then transitioned back into chapter 4. Next, students jumped into section seven of chapter 4, and were learning about the point slope formula. Students were introduced to the formula by Mr. Olsen, and then we practiced using the formula and plugging given information into the formula. Once students felt confident in plugging values into the point slope formula, we began practicing solving the point slope formula for y, or rearranging the point slope formula into slope intercept form in order to graph the line. After a bit of focused practice in class, students were assigned page 98 of the workbook, to be due Wednesday in class.
Students can expect the Chapter 4 test on Thursday of this week.
Assignments: Review HW #44 is due Wednesday in class. Workbook page 98 is due Wednesday in class.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Next, students spent the class period participating in a chapter 5 review activity. The chapter 5 test is scheduled for Wednesday of this week.
Assignments: Review HW #44 is due Wednesday in class.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Students then transitioned into the unit on physics. Students spent today's class period completing the worksheet for section 2.1 on the Nature of Force. Next, students were asked to apply their knowledge of Newton's First Law of motion in a lab setting. Students completed several activities, using different materials, and answered several questions based on Newton's First Law of Motion.
Assignments: None.
