8th Grade Math: Today students began class with the problem of the day, before moving right into grading of the section 1.7 worksheet that was due today in class. We then moved into section 1.8 in the book and talked about Coordinate Planes. After some teacher led instruction and examples, students were handed a worksheet to practice their skills.
Assignments: Review Homework #4 is due Wednesday morning. Section 1.8 worksheet is due tomorrow morning. The chapter 1 test will be on Thursday morning.
7th Grade Math: Today students began class with their flashmasters. We then moved right into the next section, 1.6 on perimeter and area, and students were given class time to complete the worksheet.
Assignments: Review Homework #5 is due Wednesday morning. Section 1.7 worksheet on perimeter and area is due in the morning. The chapter 1 test will be on Friday morning.
Science: Today in science students were introduced to the different elements of advertisements. All ads attempt to target a specific audience using the elements of credibility, reasonableness, or emotional buy in from the consumer. We then did a class activity where students took an advertisement handed to them by the teacher and the students had to pull out the important aspects of the ad.
Assignments: Students have been asked to bring in three advertisements that touch on the elements of advertising we talked about in class. (Ethos, Pathos, and Logos)
