7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, we moved into probability.  Students graded their 6.7 homework (the back side), before we jumped into section 8 on the counting principle.  Students defined the counting principle and tree diagrams, and we then worked on a few examples of each together.  Students then practiced finding the probability of an event by using the counting principle.  Students were then assigned the 6.8 worksheet as homework.

Assignments:   Students were assigned the rest of the section 6.8 worksheet, to be due on Friday.  The chapter 6 test will be on Monday of next week.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students participated in a chapter review activity titled Review around the Room.  Students were assigned a letter, and then proceeded to move around the room completing problems from each section of chapter 3 as a review for the chapter test on Friday.

Assignments:  Students should be reviewing their notes and key concepts from chapter 3 for the test on Friday.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then began reviewing the key concepts and vocabulary from chapter 1 for the upcoming test on Friday.  Today students spent the class period creating a 4in X 6in notecard of information they feel will help them on the test on Friday.  Students will be allowed the opportunity to use their completed front and back notecard on the chapter 1 test on Friday.

Assignments:    Students can be reviewing the key concepts and vocabulary for the upcoming chapter 1 test on Friday.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
