7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the problem of the day. Next, we moved into section 5 of chapter 6. We graded our 6.4 homework before students were introduced to finding unknown side lengths of similar figures. Students practiced using the cross products property after setting up ratios using the information given. We then practiced solving proportions using algebra. Students were assigned the 6.5 worksheet for homework.
Assignments: Section 6.5 worksheet is due on Friday in class. Students can expect a quiz on similar and congruent figures in class on Friday.
8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters. Next, we jumped back into section 4 of chapter 3. Students continued working on solving and graphing solutions to inequalities. Today we worked on solving inequalities using multiplication and division. Students were reminded of how to solve one and two step equations with equal signs, and then substituted a inequality in for the equal sign and solved and graphed their solutions. Students were assigned seven problems from their at home textbook, p. 146 #12-19 due on Friday in class.
Assignments: Study Island Review Homework #32 is due Friday in class. Page 146 #12-19 are also due Friday in class.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Today, students completed the lab designed to determine whether the foods that they tested contained starches or lipids by using the "brown paper" test or the "iodine test".
Assignments: Students should be completing the questions the wrap up the lab they participated in Wednesday and today in class. Due Friday!
