7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, we jumped back into our conversation on geometry concepts, and today students participated in an activity where we created two similar triangles, and practiced identifying the corresponding sides and angles, as well as measuring each angle of the triangles using a protractor and ruler if needed.  We then jumped back into the book and started taking notes on section 4 on identifying similar and congruent figures.

Assignments:   Study Island Review Homework #29 is due by the end of the day on Wednesday.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, we jumped back into section 4 of chapter 3.  Students continued working on solving and graphing solutions to inequalities.  Today we worked on solving inequalities using addition and subtraction, and graphing the solutions on number lines.

Assignments:  Study Island Review Homework #31 is due by the end of the day on Wednesday.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Today, students defined 14 key vocabulary words related to organic and inorganic molecules or compounds.  Next, we read section three of the textbook on organic molecules as a class.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
