Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students jumped into chapter 3 and working with functions.  Mr. Olsen led students through a lesson on horizontal and vertical stretches and shrinks. We did several practice problems together in class, identifying the presentation format and what clues to look for when deciding what type of transformation is occurring within the given problem. Students were then assigned homework from the text book, page 152 #23-28, to be due on Tuesday in class.

Assignments:  Students were then assigned homework from the text book, page 152 #17-22, to be due on Friday in class.  Students can also expect a quiz in class on Friday.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with a Do Now and several Flashmaster activities, before students transitioned into chapter 2 and rational numbers.  Students then were practicing comparing and ordering a given list of fractions and decimals.  Next, students were given class time to work on the practice workbook activities for section 2.3 on subtracting rational numbers.

Assignments: Review Homework #18 is due on Wednesday.  Practice workbook pages 33 & 34 are due Tuesday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now. Next, students participated in a class discussion on why failure is so important in science.  Students then began working in groups to come up with a rule for a pattern, which they will be able to share with all of their class mates on Tuesday in class.

Assignments:  None.
