Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students jumped into chapter 3 and working with functions.  Mr. Olsen led students through a lesson on horizontal and vertical stretches and shrinks. Students watched a youtube clip where we dissected how to stretch or shrink a graph.  We then practiced several problems together in class, identifying the presentation format and what clues to look for when deciding what type of transformation is occurring within the given problem. Students were then assigned homework from the text book, page 152 #29, 31, 34, 35-38, to be due on Wednesday in class.

Assignments:  Students were then assigned homework from the text book, page 152 #29, 31, 34, 35-38, to be due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with a Do Now and several Flashmaster activities, before students transitioned into chapter 2 and rational numbers.  Students then were practicing comparing and ordering a given list of fractions and decimals.  Next, students were given class time to work on the section 2.3 Practice A worksheet, which will be due on Wednesday in class.

Assignments: Review Homework #18 is due on Wednesday.  The section 2.3 Practice A worksheet is due on Wednesday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now. Next, students participated in a class discussion on why failure is so important in science.  Students then got back into their groups from Monday to come up with a rule for a pattern, which they then shared with another group of class mates to see if another group could solve their pattern and identify the "rule" being put forth by the other group.

Assignments:  None.
