Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students jumped into chapter 3 and working with functions.  We graded/reviewed our homework from Monday, before students practiced a few word problems, where they were identifying the independent variable (the x term, or the input) and the dependent variable (the y term, or the output) before describing the domain and range of the scenario.  Students then transitioned into section 2 on identifying functions by using tables, graphs, and equations.  Students were assigned the practice workbook activities for section 3.2 (WB pages 64-66, to be due on Wednesday in class).

Assignments: Students were assigned the practice workbook activities for section 3.2 (WB pages 64-66, to be due on Wednesday in class).

7th Grade Math: Students began class with a Do Now and several Flashmaster activities, before students transitioned into chapter 2 and rational numbers.  We spent todays class period reviewing how to add and subtract UNLIKE fractions.  After a bit of teacher led instruction, students were handed a worksheet and given class time to demonstrate their adding and subtracting unlike fraction abilities.

Assignments: Review HW #11 is due Wednesday in class.  Students should be completing the back side of the adding and subtracting unlike fractions worksheet we began in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now. Students then continued our discussion on observations in science.  We then transitioned back into their assigned dry ice experiment groups, and students were continuing the planning process for the upcoming experiments. Today student groups were putting together detailed material lists, and began writing detailed procedures for their experiments.

Assignments:  Students should be planning on how their groups will have all of their experiment materials on Thursday.
