Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students jumped into chapter 3 and working with functions.  We graded/reviewed our homework from Tuesday.  Students then transitioned back into section 2 and reviewed identifying functions by using tables, graphs, and equations. We then went over the quiz from last Friday, where students were allowed to collaborate with their table mates, and then ask questions of Mr. Olsen to clarify.  Next, we spent time going over the homework assignment that is due on Tuesday in class.  The section 3.2 Enrichment and Extension assignment has students working with a real life linear equation example, riding in and calculating a taxi fare.  We worked together to develop a linear function to help students get started on the work.

Assignments:  The section 3.2 enrichment and extension assignment is due on Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with a Do Now and several Flashmaster activities, before students transitioned into chapter 2 and rational numbers.  We spent todays class period reviewing how to cross cancel when multiplying fractions.  Next, we transitioned into dividing fractions.  Students copied some notes down on the steps to follow when dividing fractions, before we practiced several examples together.  Students were then asked to complete four (4) dividing fractions and/or mixed numbers for homework, to be due on Tuesday in class.

Assignments: Review HW #13 is due Wednesday in class.  Students were then asked to complete four (4) dividing fractions and/or mixed numbers for homework, to be due on Tuesday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now. Students then continued our discussion on observations in science.  We then transitioned back into their assigned dry ice experiment groups, and students were compiling all of their data, observations and results collected during our experiments from last week, into a detailed group lab report.  Students were also introduced to the Dry Ice Investigations Poster Project.  Students received an outline document and scoring guide, outlining how students/groups can meet and/or exceed expectations on the poster project that is due on Tuesday October 17th.

Assignments:  None.
