8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  This morning, students continued working with the change in percents.  Today students were learning how to determine a new price from a markup, a discount, as well as sales tax amounts and how to calculate a tip from a given amount.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned the section 7.6 worksheet, to be due Thursday in class.  

Assignments:  The section 7.6 worksheet is due Thursday in class.    

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students were introduced to the terms of expressions and equations.  After defining several key vocabulary words, we practiced identifying the terms, like terms, coefficients and constants of a given expression.   

Assignments:  None.

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began learning about the world's seasonal forests.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  This morning, students continued working with the change in percents.  Today students were learning how to determine an increase or decrease from a given original amount.  After some teacher led instruction, and several examples, students were handed a worksheet and asked to complete it for class on Wednesday.      
 
Assignments:  Review HW #54 is due Wednesday in class. Students were assigned a worksheet on finding the change in percent to be due Wednesday in class.     

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students took the chapter 6 test.  

Assignments:  Review HW #54 is due Wednesday in class.  

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began learning about the different biomes of the world and how they are classified.  
   
Assignments:   Students were given a packet about the different biomes of the world, and asked to answer 9 questions based on the information.  That worksheet is homework if they did not complete it in the 25 minutes of class time given to them.

8th Grade Math: There was no math class today as the Taku House students took the Math MAPs assessment. 

Assignments:  Review HW #53 is due Friday in class. Students were assigned the section 6.5 WS as homework, to be due Friday in class, as this week we will begin MAPs testing on Tuesday through Thursday.

Assignments:  Review HW #53 is due Friday in class. Students were assigned the section 6.5 WS as homework, to be due Friday in class, as this week we will begin MAPs testing on Tuesday through Thursday.

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students completed a self and group evaluation assessment concerning their own efforts on the Human Body project as well as an opportunity to share their thoughts about the efforts of their assigned partner throughout the project.  Students were then given the remaining class time to continue preparing for the Body System test scheduled for Thursday.
   
Assignments:   Students should be studying their Body System Study Guide in order to prepare for the upcoming body system test scheduled for Thursday of this week.

8th Grade Math: There was no math class today as the Taku House students took the Reading MAPs assessment. 

Assignments:  Review HW #53 is due Friday in class. Students were assigned the section 6.5 WS as homework, to be due Friday in class, as this week we will begin MAPs testing on Tuesday through Thursday.

Assignments:   Students should be studying their Body System Study Guide in order to prepare for the upcoming body system test scheduled for Thursday of this week.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  This morning, students jumped back into chapter 6 and students continued working with similar and congruent figures.  After some review of finding some corresponding side lengths and angles, students were introduced to finding missing side lengths of similar shapes.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the section 6.5 worksheet as homework, to be due Friday in class.    
 
Assignments:  Review HW #53 is due Friday in class. Students were assigned the section 6.5 WS as homework, to be due Friday in class, as this week we will begin MAPs testing on Tuesday through Thursday.    

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students continued working in chapter 6 and integers.  Today, students were reintroduced to the coordinate plane and section 6.8.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples of locating and identifying ordered pairs on the coordinate plane, students were assigned the section 6.8 WS, that will be due on Friday of this week. 

Assignments:  Review HW #53 is due Friday in class.  The section 6.8 WS is due Friday in class, as this week we will begin MAPs testing on Tuesday through Thursday.

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students groups began presenting their Human Body Quest presentations on their assigned body system.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  This morning, students jumped back into chapter 6 and students were introduced to similar and congruent figures.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were given some class time to continue with their review of the sixteen fractions, decimals and percents they will be tested on Friday morning.  As a reminder, the test for the FFM is scheduled for THIS FRIDAY, May 8th.    
 
Assignments:  Review HW #52 is due Friday in class. Students should be continuing the memorization for their Fraction Finding Mission.  

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students continued working in chapter 6 and integers.  Today, students continued working with the distributive property.  Several students needed some support of how to use the distributive property, so all students finished up their distributive property worksheet, and then began working on some review work out of the text book, page 781 #5-33, to be due Friday in class.  

Assignments:  Review HW #52 is due Friday in class.  The book work from page 781 #5-33 we began in class is due Friday in class.

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students groups began presenting their Human Body Quest presentations on their assigned body system.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  This morning, students jumped back into chapter 6 and students were introduced to similar and congruent figures.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the section 6.4 WS as homework, to be due Thursday in class.   As a reminder, the test for the FFM is scheduled for THIS FRIDAY, May 8th.    
 
Assignments:  Review HW #52 is due Friday in class. Students should be continuing the memorization for their Fraction Finding Mission.  

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students continued working in chapter 6 and integers.  Today, students continued working with the distributive property.  Several students needed some support of how to use the distributive property, so all students continued working on a DP worksheet, while Mr. Olsen moved around the classroom to assist students when needed.  

Assignments:  Review HW #52 is due Friday in class.  The distributive property worksheet we began in class is due Thursday in class.

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students got back with their assigned body system partner and groups were given time in the classroom to practice their presentations with mock audiences in order to get some constructive criticism to be better prepared for the actual graded presentations scheduled to begin on Thursday in class. 
   
Assignments:   Students should be finalizing their assigned body system presentations and working on their presentation notes.  Presentations will begin on Thursday in class.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  This morning, students jumped back into chapter 6 and began reviewing some geometry concepts and vocabulary in order to be able to identify similar and congruent figures.  As a reminder, the test for the FFM is scheduled for THIS FRIDAY, May 8th.    
 
Assignments:  Review HW #51 is due Wednesday in class. Students should be continuing the memorization for their Fraction Finding Mission.

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students got back with their assigned body system partner and groups were given time in the computer lab to finalize their google slides presentations on their assigned body system.  Groups were also finalizing the worksheet they will use throughout their presentation.
