Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Students then began the review process for the semester 2 final.

Students can expect the semester 2 final on Thursday of this week.

Assignments:   Students should be preparing for the semester 2 final on chapters 6-10 on Thursday.  

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Next, students jumped back into chapter 7 and today students were given a review day to prepare for the chapter 7 test scheduled for Wednesday in class.

Assignments:   Review Homework #56 is due Wednesday in class.  Students should be preparing for the chapter 7 test on Wednesday.

Science:  Students got into their Local Ecology Groups and we went outside to make one last visit to our established plots for the school year.

Assignments: Students can be continuing their research on their assigned body system.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Students then took the chapter 10 test.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Next, students jumped back into chapter 7 and today continued working with proportions and scale factors.  Students will be taking the chapter 7 test on Wednesday of this week.

Assignments:   Review Homework #56 is due Wednesday in class.  

Science:  No class today as students were participating in the Taku House's Artist in the Schools program.  

Assignments: Students can be continuing their research on their assigned body system.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Students then jumped into chapter 10.  Students were introduced to graphing square root functions, as well as comparing average rates of change between two functions.  After some teacher led instruction and a few example problems, students were assigned the section 10.1 Practice B worksheet, to be due on Thursday in class.

Assignments:   Students were assigned the section 10.1 Practice B worksheet, to be due on Thursday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Next, students jumped back into chapter 7 and today were reviewing proportions in order to begin working with scale drawings and using scale factors.  After a few examples of solving proportions and using the cross products property, students were given class time to begin working on activities 1 & 2 in the practice workbook.  Activities 1 & 2 for section 7.5 in the practice workbook will be due on Thursday in class.

Assignments:   Review Homework #55 is due Friday in class.   Activities 1 & 2 for section 7.5 in the practice workbook will be due on Thursday in class.

Science:  No class today as students are MAP testing in the morning and having math and language arts classes in the afternoon.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Students then completed their chapter 9 tests.  Students were assigned practice workbook pages 306-308 for homework to be due on Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Next, students jumped back into chapter 7 and today were continuing to work with triangles. Students reviewed classifying triangles based on given side lengths, or given angle measures.  Students then participated in a lesson on quadrilaterals and section 7.4.  Students practiced identifying different polygons and quadrilaterals including how to calculating a missing angle measure.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned workbook page 160 for homework, to be due on Tuesday in class.

Assignments:   Review Homework #54 is due Wednesday in class.   The practice workbook page 160 is due Tuesday in class.

Science:  Students began class with a Do Now.  Next, students are being introduced to the human body and the systems that it entails.  Students were informed of the Human Body Quest activity we will be finishing the year up with.  Students were partnered up and assigned a body system to research and to become knowledgable about in order to share their knowledge with the rest of their classmates next week.  

Assignments: Students can be beginning their research on their assigned body system.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Students then jumped right back into chapter 9.  Students were handed a chapter 9 review sheet and given the remaining class time to prepare for the chapter 9 test scheduled for Friday morning. 

Assignments:   Students can expect the chapter 9 test on Friday of this week. 

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Next, students jumped back into chapter 7 and today were continuing to work with triangles. Students reviewed classifying triangles based on given side lengths, or given angle measures.  Students then participated in a lesson on finding a third angle measure or side length when given two others.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the section 7.3 extension worksheet worksheet, to be due in class on Friday.

Students can expect a quiz on Friday in class.

Assignments:   Review Homework #53 is due Friday in class.   The section 7.3 extension worksheet is due Friday in class.

Science:  Students began class with a Do Now.  Next, students are being introduced to the human body and the systems that it entails.  Students partnered up and then produced an outline of the human body with all parts, bones, systems and anything else they may know about the body labeled on the poster.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Students then jumped right back into chapter 9.  Students reviewed the quadratic formula, practiced a few problems, and also reviewed discriminants and how to find them.  Students were then reminded of how we solved systems of linear equations, and were introduced to solving systems of non-linear equations through graphing, substitution and/or elimination.  After some teacher led instruction with a few example problems thrown in, students were assigned some homework from the textbook, page 530 #7; 12; 14; 18; 20; 23; 25; 40, to be due on Thursday in class.  

Students can expect the chapter 9 test on Friday of this week.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Students then jumped right back into chapter 9.  Students reviewed the quadratic formula, practiced a few problems, and also reviewed discriminants and how to find them.  Students were then reminded of the five methods of solving quadratic equations that we have learned in chapter 9 (factoring; graphing; using square roots; completing the square; and the quadratic formula), and students were then asked to complete some problems where they chose the best method of solving from that list.  After some teacher led instruction with a few example problems thrown in, students were assigned some homework from the textbook, page 521 & 522 #37-43 odds; 48; 50; 51, to be due on Wednesday in class.  

Students can expect the chapter 9 test on Friday.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Students then jumped right back into chapter 9.  Students reviewed the quadratic formula, practiced a few problems, before being introduced to interpreting the discriminant.  We defined what a discriminant is, how to identify an calculate it, and the rules associated with how to use the discriminant while using the quadratic formula.  After some teacher led instruction with a few example problems thrown in, students were assigned some homework from the textbook, page 521 #15-23 odds; 25; 26; 31-35 odds, to be due on Tuesday in class.  

Students can expect the chapter 9 test by the end of the week.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Next, students jumped back into our Perfect Shape activity.  Students pulled out their 8 index cards, one for each perfect shape, and were then given class time to finalizetheir perfect shapes.  The 8 perfect shapes will be due at the beginning of class on Tuesday.
