Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students were given another class period to continue the review process for the semester 1 Final scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Assignments: The semester 1 final on chapters 1-5 is scheduled for Wednesday.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were back in chapter 2, section 2 and section 4.  Today, students continued dividing rational numbers.

Assignments:  Review Homework #27 is due on Thursday in class. 

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students got into their LEP groups and we went outside to collect our December data.

Assignments:  None.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students used today's class period to continue the review process for the semester 1 Final scheduled for Wednesday morning.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were back in chapter 2, section 2 and section 4.  Today, students continued multiplying rational numbers, as well as dividing rational numbers.

Assignments:  Review Homework #27 is due on Thursday in class. 

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students graded their chapter 1 tests.  Students finished class with a cell organelle word search.  

Students can expect to be outside for science class on Tuesday going out to their LEP plots.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students used today's class period to continue the review process for the chapter 5 test on Friday.  Students paired up today in class and played Linear Equations Battleship. 

The semester 1 final on chapters 1-5 is scheduled for Wednesday December 19th.  

Assignments: The chapter 5 test is scheduled for Friday morning.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were back in chapter 2, section 2 and section 3.  Students are adding and subtracting rational numbers, including fractions, improper fractions, mixed numbers and decimals.  Today, students began multiplying rational numbers, as well as adding and subtracting rational numbers.

Assignments:  Review Homework #26 is due on Friday in class. 

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were given class time to complete the chapter 1 review activity, as well as creating a notecard that they can use on the chapter 1 test on Friday in class.

Assignments:  Students can expect a test on chapter 1 from the From Bacteria to Plants textbook on Friday in class.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students used today's class period to begin the review process in preparation for the chapter 5 test on Friday in class.

The semester 1 final on chapters 1-5 is scheduled for Wednesday December 19th.  

Assignments: The chapter 5 test is scheduled for Friday morning.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were back in chapter 2, section 2 and section 3.  Students are adding and subtracting rational numbers, including fractions, improper fractions, mixed numbers and decimals.  Students completed eight problems during the class period.  

Assignments:  Review Homework #26 is due on Friday in class. 

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were reading to learn about the six kingdoms all organisms are grouped into.  Students answered some guided reading questions and the section 1.4 worksheet during class today.  

Assignments:  Students can expect a test on chapter 1 from the From Bacteria to Plants textbook on Friday in class.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students jumped right back into chapter 5, and today we were reviewing how to graph a linear inequality in two variables on a coordinate plane.  Students then began working with graphing systems of inequalities.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned some homework from the text book, page 278 #10; 18; 24; 30, to be due on Wednesday in class.

Students can expect the Chapter 5 test on this Friday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were reviewing the eight levels of classification for living things.  After a bit of classroom instruction, students were handed a cut and paste levels of classification activity and given 35 minutes of class time to complete the work.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students jumped right back into chapter 5, and today we were reviewing the three different methods we have covered so far in chapter 5 for solving systems of equations, through graphing, substitution, and/or elimination.  Students then continued to work with systems of equations that had one solution, many solutions or no solution.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned some homework from the text book, page 257 #1; 2; 3; 6; 8; 9-12; 14; 18; 26, to be due on Friday in class.

Students can expect a quiz on the first four sections of chapter 5 on Friday.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were back in the library and we continued working with computer coding.  Students are working with Mr. Fortier, the librarian, on coding video games on www.code.org/learn and/or working with Lego robotics.  

Assignments:  Review Homework #24 is due on Friday in class. 

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were reading to learn about early classification systems of living things, and how we classify organisms in today's world.  After we finished reading section 3 together out loud, students were given the remaining 15 minutes of class to complete the section 1.3 worksheet.  

Assignments:  The section 1.3 worksheet is due at the beginning of class on Friday.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students jumped right back into chapter 5, and today we were reviewing the three different methods we have covered so far in chapter 5 for solving systems of equations, through graphing, substitution, and/or elimination.  Students were then introduced to the idea that there may be more than one solution to a given system of equations, or even no solutions.  Students were then given some class time to begin working on the explorations for section 5.4 in their practice workbooks.  Practice workbook pages 147-148 are due on Thursday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students went back to the library and we continued working with computer coding.  Students are working with Mr. Fortier, the librarian, on coding and working with Lego robotics.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were defining some key vocabulary words, and preparing for learning about how scientists classify living organisms.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students jumped right into chapter 5, and today we reviewed how to solve a system of equations using the graphing method.  Next, students were introduced to solving systems of equations through substitution.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the section 5.2 Practice A worksheet as homework, to be due on Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were given class time to continue working on the quiz we began in class last Thursday.   

Assignments:  Review Homework #23 is due on Wednesday in class. 

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were reading to learn about the origins of life on Earth.  We read pages 25-27 together as a group, before students were given the last 18 minutes of class time to complete the section 1.2 worksheet.   

Assignments:  The section 1.2 worksheet on Origins of Life is due on Tuesday in class.
