Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students were given another class period to continue the review process for the semester 1 Final scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Assignments: The semester 1 final on chapters 1-5 is scheduled for Wednesday.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were back in chapter 2, section 2 and section 4.  Today, students continued dividing rational numbers.

Assignments:  Review Homework #27 is due on Thursday in class. 

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students got into their LEP groups and we went outside to collect our December data.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were back in chapter 2, section 2 and section 4.  Today, students continued multiplying rational numbers, as well as dividing rational numbers.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students graded their chapter 1 tests.  Students finished class with a cell organelle word search.  

Students can expect to be outside for science class on Tuesday going out to their LEP plots.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students used today's class period to continue the review process for the chapter 5 test on Friday.  Students paired up today in class and played Linear Equations Battleship.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were back in chapter 2, section 2 and section 3.  Students are adding and subtracting rational numbers, including fractions, improper fractions, mixed numbers and decimals.  Today, students began multiplying rational numbers, as well as adding and subtracting rational numbers.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students jumped right back into chapter 5, and today we were reviewing how to graph a linear inequality in two variables on a coordinate plane.  Students then began working with graphing systems of inequalities.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned some homework from the text book, page 278 #10; 18; 24; 30, to be due on Wednesday in class.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students jumped right back into chapter 5, and today we were reviewing the three different methods we have covered so far in chapter 5 for solving systems of equations, through graphing, substitution, and/or elimination.  Students then continued to work with systems of equations that had one solution, many solutions or no solution.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned some homework from the text book, page 257 #1; 2; 3; 6; 8; 9-12; 14; 18; 26, to be due on Friday in class.

Students can expect a quiz on the first four sections of chapter 5 on Friday.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were back in the library and we continued working with computer coding.  Students are working with Mr. Fortier, the librarian, on coding video games on www.code.org/learn and/or working with Lego robotics.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were reading to learn about early classification systems of living things, and how we classify organisms in today's world.  After we finished reading section 3 together out loud, students were given the remaining 15 minutes of class to complete the section 1.3 worksheet.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students jumped right back into chapter 5, and today we were reviewing the three different methods we have covered so far in chapter 5 for solving systems of equations, through graphing, substitution, and/or elimination.  Students were then introduced to the idea that there may be more than one solution to a given system of equations, or even no solutions.  Students were then given some class time to begin working on the explorations for section 5.4 in their practice workbooks.  Practice workbook pages 147-148 are due on Thursday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math, students began class with the Do Now, and then working on their Flashmaster activities or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were introduced to chapter 2 and rational numbers.  Students again were broken into pairs and they played a flashcard game, where each student flipped a card (either card could be a fraction or a decimal) and the students needed to determine which card was larger.

Science:  Today in science, students were given a block period to continue working on the "A Day in the Life" house project.  Students were assigned a partner from the opposite homeroom (Sheufelt/Olsen) and also assigned a country from around the world.  These assigned student groups, will be researching and putting together a poster product (among other final products) of what life is like for a 12/13 year old living in their assigned country.  Today, groups were matting their paragraphs and images, before beginning to put together their poster products.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem where they were creating a stem and leaf plot of given data.  Next, students jumped right back into chapter 4.  Students were tasked with being able to write a linear equation from several different formats.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems of how to write an equation from several different perspectives, students were assigned homework from the text book, page 185 #1; 8-14, to be due on Friday in class.

Assignments: Students were assigned homework from the text book, page 185 #1; 8-14, to be due on Friday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math, students began class with the Do Now, and then working on their Flashmaster activities or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were given the class period to begin preparing for the upcoming chapter 1 test on Friday in class.

Students can expect the chapter 1 Test on Friday in class.

Assignments:  Review Homework #17 is due on Friday in class.  

Science:  Today in science, students were introduced to the "A Day in My Life" google classroom assignment.  Students were choosing different parts of their lives to find pictures to describe that part of their life that they value, and why the image they chose demonstrates that value.  

Assignments:  This "A Day in My Life" project is due at the end of the day Friday.
