Algebra I: Students began class with the Do Now and the Problem of the Day.  Next, we jumped back into chapter 6 and section 4 on exponential growth and decay functions.  We reviewed the growth and decay formulas as well as the Compound Interest formula, before students worked their way through an example problem that had them writing a function from given information and then using that function to graph the situation.  Students were then assigned the section 6.4 Practice A worksheet (odds only) to be due on Thursday in class.  

Mr. Olsen will be out of the classroom on Thursday and a substitute will be leading the class. Students had the lab on exponential growth and decay they will be preforming on Thursday in class explained to them today.  

Assignments:  Students were assigned the section 6.4 Practice A worksheet (odds only), to be due on Thursday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now and the problem of the day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and working with ratios, rates and unit rates.  Today, students reviewed the coordinate plane.  We then began graphing tables of values (x, y tables) in order to determine if the values were proportional.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned practice workbook pages 93 & 94, to be due on Thursday in class.

Assignments: Review Homework #37 is due on Friday in class.  The practice workbook pages 93 & 94 are due on Thursday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now, before students were given class time to research a list of scientists who contributed to our modern knowledge of the atom and building an accordion timeline, detailing the contributions of these scientists to the atom. 
Assignments:  Students should be coming to class on Friday with their research done so class time on Friday can be spent creating the timelines.

Algebra I: Students began class with the Do Now and the Problem of the Day.  Next, we jumped back into chapter 6 and section 4 on exponential growth and decay functions.  We reviewed the growth and decay formulas we learned on Monday and went over the homework. Students were introduced to the Compound Interest formula next.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned some homework from the text book, pages 320-321, #22-28 evens; 44; 54; 57-61; 64, to be due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now and the problem of the day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and working with ratios, rates and unit rates.  Today, students were introduced to (or we reviewed) the coordinate plane.  We built a coordinate plane together and practiced plotting ordered pairs, before students were handed a double sided worksheet that has students identifying ordered pairs on one side and plotting ordered pairs on side two. This worksheet will be due on Wednesday in class.

Assignments: Review Homework #36 is due on Wednesday in class.  The coordinate plane worksheet (side two) is due on Wednesday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now, before we spent some class time discussing the atom and what we now know about them.  Students were then introduced to the Atomic Model Timeline activity.  Students will be researching a list of scientists who contributed to our modern knowledge of the atom and building an accordion timeline, detailing the contributions of these scientists to the atom.

Algebra I: Students began class with the Do Now and the Problem of the Day.  Next, we jumped back into chapter 6 and section 4 on exponential growth and decay functions.  We reviewed the activities we did as homework over the weekend, before introducing the growth and decay formulas.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned some homework from the text book, page 319, #4; 5-21 odds; and 38, to be due on Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now and the problem of the day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and working with ratios, rates and unit rates.  Students reviewed the definition of what proportional means when comparing two ratios, before working through several examples of how to determine if said ratios form a proportion. Students were then introduced to the Cross Products Property as another method of determining proportional relationships.  After some teacher led instruction, and several examples, students were assigned and given class time to complete workbook page 92, to be due on Tuesday in class.

Assignments: Review Homework #36 is due on Wednesday in class.  Workbook page 92 is due on Tuesday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now, before we completed the film "Hunting the Elements."  Students filled in the video notes for day 3 of the film.

Algebra I: Students began class with the Do Now and the Problem of the Day.  Next, we graded our homework from Tuesday, before we took a quiz on the first three sections of chapter 6.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now and the problem of the day.  Next, students jumped into chapter 5 and working with ratios, rates and unit rates.  Students then began an activity involving building and working with proportions based on the nutritional information related to a Big Mac hamburger from McDonalds.  

Assignments: Review Homework #35 is due on Friday in class.

Science:  Students are participating in a house wide mask building project during Social Studies and Science time for the next two days.

Algebra I: There was no math class today, as students completed the MAPs Language Usage test this morning and then we had social studies and science in the afternoon.  

Assignments:  Students were assigned some text book work on Tuesday, pages 303-304 #1, 8-12, 16-34 evens, 35, 40 to be due on Thursday afternoon in class.

7th Grade Math: No math class today.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now before we transitioned into chapter 6.  Students began with a few warm up problems before we reviewed the exponent rules we have learned this week.  Next, we began talking about the nth roots of real numbers.  After a bit of an introduction to cubic roots and how to display a cubic root, students were assigned the activities from the practice workbook, pages 173 & 174, to be due on Friday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in 7th grade math, students began class with either their flashmaster activities, or a Problem of the Day warm up problem.  Students then began working on the chapter 3 test.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students participated in a lab that had all students finding and comparing the densities of different candy bars.  

Assignments:  Students should be completing their How Sweet it is lab report if they did not finish in the class time provided.

7th Grade Math: Today in 7th grade math, students began class with either their flashmaster activities, or a Problem of the Day warm up problem.  Students were then given the class period to complete the chapter 3 review activity in order to review for the chapter 3 test.

The chapter 3 Test is scheduled for Thursday of this week.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students participated in a lab that had all students making calculations to find the mass, volume and the density of various objects.

7th Grade Math: Today in 7th grade math, students began class with either their flashmaster activities, or a Problem of the Day warm up problem.  We then transitioned back into chapter 3 and working with two step equations.  After a few practice problems with some teacher led instruction, students spent the remaining time in class working on completing a two step equation worksheet.  

The chapter 3 Test is scheduled for Thursday of this week.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students jumped back into chemistry, and today students were reading about how we measure and classify matter. Students began by reading chapter 1 section 2 on Measuring Matter, and then they defined several key vocabulary words and began working on the section 2 Measuring Matter worksheet, which will be due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in 7th grade math, students began class with either their flashmaster activities, or a Problem of the Day warm up problem.  We then transitioned back into chapter 3 and working with and solving one and two step equations.  After a few practice problems with some teacher led instruction, students spent the remaining time in class working on completing a one step equation worksheet.  

Assignments: Review Homework #31 is due on Wednesday in class.  The one step equation worksheet will be due on Tuesday in class.  

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students jumped back into chemistry, and today students were completing some chapter 1 book work in class.  Students began by reading chapter 1 section 1 on Describing Matter, and then they defined several key vocabulary words and answered several questions based on their readings.  

Assignments:  The chapter 1 book work worksheet is due on Tuesday in class.
