Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students were continuing to work with chapter 7 and polynomials.  Next, students reviewed our work with special patterns of polynomials and the zero-product property.  Today students continued factoring polynomials.  Students were given class time to complete a foldable on factoring quadratics that helped students further their learning about factoring polynomials.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned some homework from the textbook, page 395 #3-8, to be due on Thursday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students continued learning to solve equations using inverse operations.  Today, students were solving multiplication and division equations.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned an in class worksheet and given the remaining 20 minutes of class time to work on it.  

Assignments:  None.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students spent the hour typing up their final drafts for the Osmosis Jones Summary Essay assignment.  The final drafts should be submitted to Mr. Olsen on the google classroom site.  

Assignments:  The final drafts of the Osmosis Jones Summary Essay is due on Thursday in class.  Students can also expect to be outside for science class tomorrow (Thursday).

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students were continuing to work with chapter 7 and polynomials.  Next, students reviewed our work with special patterns of polynomials and the zero-product property.  Today students continued factoring polynomials.  Students were given class time to complete workbook pages 227 & 228 that helped students further their learning about factoring polynomials.  After we reviewed the answers to pages 227 & 228, students were then assigned a factoring polynomials worksheet, to be due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students reviewed factoring linear expressions using the GCF as well as factoring out the coefficient of a given expression.  Next, students continued learning to solve equations using inverse operations.  Today, students were solving multiplication and division equations.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned an in class worksheet and given the remaining 20 minutes of class time to work on it.  

Assignments:  Review Homework #40 is due on Wednesday.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students spent the hour writing a rough draft of their essay that is due on Thursday.  Students are responsible for writing a 1-2 page essay based on five questions related to the film.  The Osmosis Jones Essay is due in class on Thursday of this week.

Assignments:  Students should be coming to class on Wednesday with a hand written rough draft of their Osmosis Jones essay.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students were introduced to chapter 7 and polynomials.  We began class by working a bit with algebra tiles, and how to decipher algebraic expressions from a collection of tiles.  Next, students defined a monomial and began learning how to identify monomials from binomials and trinomials as well as how to find the degree of a given expression.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned some homework from the text book, page 362 #4-20, to be due on Tuesday in class.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students were given about 40 minutes of our block class period to continue preparing for the chapter 6 test.  We used the last half of the block period to take the chapter 6 test.
