Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students reviewed the idea of exponential functions, before we continued talking about exponential growth and decay functions.  Today students were introduced to solving exponential equations with the same and unlike bases.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned some homework problems from the textbook, page 329 #3-12, 13-17 odds, 38-40, to be due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students were then introduced to how to find the slope of a line.  Students were given class time to begin working through the activities on workbook pages 103-105.  These workbook pages will be due on Wednesday in class.

Assignments:  Review Homework #33 is due Wednesday in class.  Workbook pages 103-105 are due on Wednesday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students were then helped through an activity where we compared a cell to our school.  Students were encouraged  

Assignments: Students should be completing a cell coloring packet, that will be due on Wednesday in class.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students reviewed the idea of exponential functions, before we continued talking about exponential growth and decay functions.  Today students were introduced to compound interest.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems on compound interest, students were assigned some homework problems from the textbook, page 320-321 # 44, 54, 57-62, 64, to be due on Tuesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then jumped back into groups from last week and we played the Criss-Cross proportion game. 

Assignments:  Review Homework #33 is due Wednesday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students were then helped through an activity where we compared a cell to a factory.  We talked about the roles each organelle plays within a cell and how that compared to the parts of a factory.  

Assignments: Students should be completing a cell coloring packet, that will be due on Wednesday in class.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students reviewed the idea of exponential functions, before we continued talking about exponential growth and decay functions.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems and two videos from Khan Academy about exponential growth and decay functions, students were assigned some homework problems from the textbook, page 319 #22-29, to be due on Friday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then jumped back into chapter 5 and continued working with ratios and proportions. Students continued working with how to write and solve proportions.  Next, students paired up in class with a classmate, and we played a proportion game called Criss-Cross.

Assignments:  Review Homework #32 is due Friday in class.  The section 5.4 Practice A worksheet is due Friday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then got into their Local Ecology Groups and we went outside to our established plots to take pictures, air and soil temperatures, and make some observations.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then were reading to learn about the insides of plant and animal cells.  Students began class by defining the functions of the organelles found inside of cells, before we began reading section two of chapter one.  

Assignments: None.  Students will be heading outside to their Local Ecology Plots on Thursday during class.  Proper outdoor footwear and jackets are suggested.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students reviewed the idea of exponential functions, before we began talking about exponential growth and decay functions.  Students were given class time to begin working through the explorations (activities) in the practice workbook, pages 183-185, to be due on Wednesday in class.

Assignments:  Practice workbook, pages 183-185 are due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then jumped back into chapter 5 and continued working with ratios and proportions. Students began working with how to write and solve proportions.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were given some class time to begin working on the section 5.3 worksheet in the workbook on page 98.  This assignment will be due on Wednesday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then were reading to learn about the discovery of cells.  Students were provided some guided reading questions to answer as we came across the answers in the reading.  The section 1.1 worksheet, Discovering Cells, will be due on Wednesday in class.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students who were present, (many students were on a field trip today) participated in a discussion on exponential functions.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then jumped back into chapter 5 and continued working with ratios and proportions. Students began working with how to write and solve proportions.  After some teacher led instruction, students were given some class time to begin working on the section 5.3 explorations (activities) on workbook pages 95-97.  These pages will be due on Tuesday in class.

Assignments:  Review Homework #31 is due Wednesday in class.  Workbook pages 95-97 are due Tuesday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then began defining some key vocabulary words associated with our next unit on cells.  Students then read an article about bioengineering and answered several questions and writing prompts provided to them concerning the article.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students reviewed the concepts of working with exponents.  Students were then introduced to identifying and evaluating exponential functions.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned the section 6.3 Practice A worksheet, to be due Friday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then jumped back into chapter 5 and continued working with ratios and proportions. Students were introduced to the coordinate plane in class today and were shown how to determine whether ratios form proportions by graphing the table of given values.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples of how to determine whether two ratios form a proportion by graphing, students were assigned workbook pages 93 & 94, to be due on Friday.

Assignments:  Workbook pages 93 & 94 are due Friday in class.

Science:  There was no science today, as students are taking the MAPs tests in the morning and the Taku House is having math and language arts classes in the afternoon this week.

Students then jumped back into chapter 5 and began working with ratios and proportions.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples of how to determine whether two ratios form a proportion, we ran out of class time.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Students then jumped back into chapter 5 and finding ratios, rates and unit rates.  Students were given the first 25 minutes of class time to begin working on the section 5.1 Practice A worksheet, before students were introduced to proportions.  Students defined what a proportion was and then worked through a couple of examples of determining whether or not to ratios were proportional.  

Assignments:  Review Homework #30 is due on Friday in class.  The section 5.1 Practice A worksheet is due Friday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students reviewed the parts of compound microscopes, before all students participated in a matching activity designed to help students learn the functions of the parts of compound microscopes.  

Assignments: Students should be completing the matching activity this evening if they did not finish in the class time provided.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students reviewed the parts of compound microscopes, before all students participated in a microscope station lab.  Students filled in a worksheet as they moved through the microscope stations, sketching what they were viewing at each different station, including a sketch of the object at different objective powers.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were introduced to the compound microscope.  Students spent some time identifying the parts of a microscope by completing a worksheet and using a text book to help them correctly identify the parts, before taking some notes on the history of microscopes and how they are used.
