Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students began working with chapter 10 and square root functions.  Students were introduced to the parent function, and how we transform that parent function with stretches, shrinks, as well as horizontal or vertical translations.  After some teacher led instruction, students were assigned some homework from the text book, page 548 #5-11 odds; 12; 24; 26; 32; 33, to be due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students reviewed writing and solving proportions, before students continued learning about and working with the relationship between an x and y variable in terms of slope of a line.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were given 25 minutes of class time to complete practice workbook page 106, to be due on Friday in class.

Assignments:  Review Homework #53 is due Friday in class.  The practice workbook page 106 is due on Friday in class if students did not complete the assignment in the class time provided.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were continuing to work in their groups with the Taku House Endangered Species Project.  All Taku students were assigned to a group of four students and assigned an endangered or threatened species.  Students will be researching why their assigned animal is considered endangered.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students took the chapter 9 test.  

Assignments: Students were assigned practice workbook page 306, to be due on Friday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now, Flashmasters and/or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students reviewed writing and solving proportions, before students began learning about the relationship between an x and y variable in terms of slope of a line.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were given 25 minutes of class time to complete practice worksheet in which students were graphing linear equations from two given ordered pairs and a y-intercept.  

Assignments:  The slope worksheet is due on Friday in class if students did not complete the assignment in the class time provided.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were introduced to the Taku House Endangered Species Project.  All Taku students were assigned to a group of four students and assigned an endangered or threatened species.  Students will be researching why their assigned animal is considered endangered, and began thinking about forming a conservation group to support this animal.
