Algebra I: Students began class with the Do Now and the Problem of the Day.  Next, students took a quiz on polynomials.  We then continued our discussion on factoring polynomials.  After a bit of teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned a factoring polynomials worksheet, that will be due on Monday, March 6th.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now and the problem of the day.  Next, students continued practicing plotting points on a coordinate plane and then calculating the slope of the line they drew.  

Assignments: The slope worksheet we began in class on Tuesday will be due on Monday March 6th.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now, before students were exploring an interactive periodic table, and completing a scavenger hunt of elements and their properties.  Students were also creating their own scavenger hunt of different elements and finding a classmate to fill in the missing information.  

Assignments: Students should be completing the interactive periodic table activity over the next week, if they did not complete the activity in the class time provided.

Algebra I: Students began class with the Do Now and the Problem of the Day.  Next, students took a quiz on polynomials.  We then continued our discussion on factoring polynomials.  After a bit of teacher led instruction and an example problem, students were assigned some problems on a worksheet, where they are attempting to factor polynomials with an a value greater than one.  These six problems will be due on Tuesday in class.


Assignments:  Students were assigned some problems on a worksheet where they are factoring polynomials. 

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now and the problem of the day.  Next, students practiced plotting points on a coordinate plane and then calculating the slope of the line they drew.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now, before students were introduced to how to calculate how many neutrons a given atom my have.  We will be continuing our discussion on Atomic Basics on Tuesday in class.

Algebra I: Students began class with the Do Now and the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped into chapter 7 and began by reviewing the Zero Product Property.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were given class time to begin working on the section 7.4 Practice B worksheet that was assigned as homework, to be due Friday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now and the problem of the day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and solving were introduced to the idea of slope.  We spent some time reviewing how to use the cross products property.  Next, students were continued working with the slope formula and how to find the slope of a line by using two points on the line and calculating the slope by using the slope formula.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students completed a worksheet in class on slope.

Assignments: Students should be completing the slope worksheet we began in class if they didn't complete it in the class time provided.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now, before students were given class time to complete the section 3.3 worksheet on Non-metals and metalloids.  Students were then introduced to the Blank Periodic Table activity.  Students will be creating their own periodic table based on instructions given.  Students will have class time on Friday to continue working on the blank periodic table activity.

Algebra I: Students began class with the Do Now and the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped into chapter 7 and began by reviewing how to recognize and use the square of a binomial and the sum and difference patterns.  Students were then given some class time to complete activities 1 & 2 of section 7.4 on the Zero Product Property.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were then assigned some homework out of the textbook, page 381 #4; 6; 8; 9-19odds; 25; 30, to be due on Thursday in class.

Algebra I: Students began class with the Do Now and the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped into chapter 7 and began by reviewing how to add and subtract polynomials.  Students were then introduced to multiplying binomials and trinomials.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students learned about the FOIL method before being assigned some homework from the textbook, page 369 #2; 3-17 odds; 28; 34; 40 to be due on Thursday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now, before students completed a Think, Write Pair Share worksheet, where students answered some questions that prompted them to share their ideas in writing and than share those ideas with a class mate.  Next, students read an article related to the periodic table and than answered another set of questions based on their readings.  They then shared those thoughts with a classmate.

These pages, as well as page 196 #1-9, will be due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with the Do Now and the problem of the day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and working with ratios, rates and unit rates.  Today, students equivalent proportions and how to find and write them.  After some teacher led instruction, students were then given class time to begin working on activities 1 & 2 in the practice workbook, page 95.  This assignment will be due on Wednesday in class.

Students took a quick quiz/check in on what they remember of the coordinate plane and how to plot points, before we reviewed all of the information together as a class.
