8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the problem of the day. We then continued our discussion of surface area of rectangular prisms, did a few practice problems of solving for the surface area of rectangular prisms, before Mr. Olsen brought students around to solving for the surface area of a triangular prism.   Mr. Olsen ended class by introducing the formula for solving a surface area problem for a cylinder.
Assignments: Review Homework #16 is due on Wednesday. 
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters, before we transitioned into solving for the volume of a rectangular prism.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were handed a worksheet (12.5) to practice their new found skills.  
Assignments: Review HW #17 is due Wednesday. Complete the 12.5 worksheet if they did not finish in the time provided. 
Science: Today in science students began class by writing a reflection of their thoughts concerning the upcoming SBA exams.  We then broke into groups and students worked together to solve practice SBA questions as a team.  Two seventh graders and two eighth graders worked together through discussions to determine the best answer for each question.  
Assignments:  Students should continue keeping track of how long a light is using electricity in either their kitchen or bathroom.
