8th Grade Math:    Today in 
math students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, students began learning about rational numbers and reviewed how to convert fractions and mixed numbers into decimals and vice versa.  After some practice and review, the section 5.1 worksheet was assigned to students, and they were given about 20 minutes of class time to compete the assignment.  
Assignments:    Review
 homework #7 is due on Friday.   Students should be completing the 5.1 worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.   
7th Grade Math:  Today in math students 
began class by using their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back 
into chapter four.  We reviewed the rules for converting fractions and mixed numbers into decimals, practiced several examples, before students were assigned the 4.7 worksheet and given 30 minutes of class time to complete the work.  
Assignments:  
 Review
 homework #7 is due on Friday.  The 4.7 worksheet is due on Friday morning.  
Science: 
 Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students continued  researching their assigned element for the "Selling your Element" project that we are currently working on in science.
Assignments:     None.    
FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/31, 
the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will 
no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit 
for the work they do, when it is due.
